Product Description

Description:

ALMICRO Senior Rotary Microtome MS-80 is a standard sectioning instrument having latest technical design. It is outstanding for its precise operating, dependability and long life. A heavy, rigid base supports the internal mechanism and knife, holder. The Protective cover is hinged to the base and swings back to completely expose the interior parts, thus permitting easier access for cleaning and lubrication. It's feed mechanism is independent of the vertical movement of the object block. With every revolution of the counter balanced drive wheel the feed panel engages precisely in such precise increments that tissue can be actioned down to even one micron in thickness. Automatic disengagement of feed mechanism prevents jamming and damage to feed screw.

Technical Features:

  • Feed Adjustment: 1-50 Microns (in steps one Micron each)
  • Total feed excursion: 28 mm.
  • Overall dimensions : 16"x10"x9"
  • Weight: 30 Kg (Approx)
  • Accessories: Object holders 3 (assorted)One knife 120 mm back and handle Honing stone Oil
  • Finish: power Coated in study wooden box.

Precision Sectioning for Laboratory Excellence

With feed adjustments as fine as 1 micron, the Senior Rotary Microtome enables users to achieve highly accurate and consistent sections of biological specimens. The rotary mechanism ensures smooth and controlled cuts, supporting a variety of histology and research applications where precision is paramount.

Robust Construction for Longevity

Crafted from heavy-duty metal and a stainless-steel waste tray, this microtome is built to endure rigorous laboratory environments. The powder-coated rust-resistant finish offers additional durability, while export-quality packaging ensures safe delivery worldwide.

Manual Operation for Maximum Control

Powered by manual rotary control, this microtome allows for full user command without the need for electricity. Its bench-top portability and ergonomic handle make it convenient for laboratories that prioritize flexibility and precision in their equipment.

FAQ's of Senior Rotary Microtome:

Q: How do I operate the Senior Rotary Microtome for sectioning specimens?

A: Operation is entirely manual. Secure the specimen in the clamp, adjust the desired section thickness (1-50 microns), and use the ergonomic rotary handle to make precise sections. Fine feed adjustments and an anti-backlash mechanism give superb control over each cut.

Q: What maintenance does the Senior Rotary Microtome require?

A: Routine maintenance involves periodic lubrication of moving parts to ensure smooth function and longevity. Cleaning the stainless-steel waste tray and wiping down the powder-coated surface will help maintain optimal performance.

Q: When should the microtome be used in the laboratory process?

A: The Senior Rotary Microtome is best used when precision sectioning of biological specimens is needed, such as during histological sample preparation, pathology analysis, or research requiring thin, uniform tissue slices.

Q: Where can this microtome be placed and utilized?

A: This model is designed as a bench-top, portable unit, allowing for easy placement in any standard laboratory setting. Its temperature resistance supports operation between 10C and 40C under standard lab conditions.

Q: What are the benefits of using a manual, non-electric rotary microtome?

A: Manual operation provides precise, tactile control over the cutting process, eliminates reliance on power supply, and minimizes operational noise. This is particularly beneficial for sensitive laboratory settings and ensures continuous use even during power outages.

Q: How is specimen thickness adjusted and controlled?

A: Section thickness is adjusted using fine feed increments, allowing precise control from 1 up to 50 microns. The anti-backlash mechanism ensures each adjustment remains accurate and repeatable.

Q: What safety features are included with this microtome?

A: Safety is prioritized through features like a finger guard and slide lock device, which help protect the user while handling blades and during the sectioning process.
