Product Description

Description:
Surface tension coefficient of liquid is an important parameter representing the property of liquid, which is widely used in industry, medicine and scientific research. To measure the surface tension, the Joly balance and torsion balance were commonly used in the traditional experiment but it is low in accuracy and poor in stability without digital output directly.
Measuring apparatus of surface tension coefficient of liquid is a new one for measuring the surface tension coefficient of liquid by way of silicon single-crystal resistance strain gage. Compared with the original one, it has three advantages as below:
1. Application of silicon single-crystal resistance strain gage to measuring the surface tension of liquid that is contacted with metal makes the apparatus high in sensitivity and perfect in linearity and stability. The value can be displayed by a digital voltmeter.
2. Adopting thin wire loop with certain height and sheet metal to replace the original platinum wire loop or platinum wire edge, which is undeformed or not be damaged for using over again.
3. The wire loop is designed and tested in its outline for special purpose, so the result directly measured has no need of correction. It can obtain a reliable and accurate result.
EXPERIMENTS:
With less measuring error of surface tension of liquid and good repeatability of the loop, this apparatus is favorable to the students learning and mastering the principle and using method of silicon single-crystal resistance strain gage. It is suitable for fundamental physics and chemical experiments both in college and technical secondary school.

FAQ's of MEASURING INSTRUMENT FOR LIQUID SURFACE TENSION COEFFICIENT:

Q: How does the instrument measure liquid surface tension coefficient?

A: The device utilizes either the ring or plate method to measure the surface tension of liquids. By placing your sample within the adjustable fixture, the instrument detects the force required to detach the ring or plate from the liquid's surface, displaying a precise reading on the analog display.

Q: What types of samples and volumes can this instrument accommodate?

A: It works with a wide variety of liquids and is designed to handle sample volumes between 10 to 30 ml. The adjustable height fixture ensures proper placement for samples of varying sizes and types.

Q: When should I calibrate the instrument and how is this verified?

A: The instrument comes pre-calibrated and includes a calibration certificate for quality assurance. Regular calibration is advised as per your laboratory's guidelines or after extensive use, ensuring ongoing measurement accuracy.

Q: Where is this instrument best utilized?

A: This measuring instrument is ideal for use in laboratory environments, including research, quality control, academic, and industrial laboratories, due to its compliance with laboratory standards and precision measurement capabilities.

Q: What is the process for measuring with this equipment?

A: To measure, place your liquid sample (10-30 ml) in the designated container, adjust the fixture to the correct height, and use the ring or plate method as required. The surface tension coefficient is then measured and displayed with high accuracy.

Q: What are the main benefits of using this instrument in the laboratory?

A: The key benefits include high measurement precision, ease of operation, corrosion resistance, and reliable calibration. Its durable stainless steel and borosilicate glass construction ensures longevity and safe handling of chemicals in diverse laboratory settings.
