Product Description
In an ideal CSTR (Le. an ideal steady state flow reactor) the contents in reactor are well mixed and have uniform composition throughout. Thus the exit stream has the same composition as the fluid within the reactor. This type of reactor is known as mixed flow reactor. This set-up is used to study a non-catalytic homogeneous second order liquid phase reaction under isothermal condition.
The set up consists of two feed tanks through which two reactants are fed to the reactor. Rotameters are provided to measure the individual flow of Chemicals. The flow rate can be adjusted by operating the needle valves provided on respective Rotameter. The magnetic drive pump is used for circulation of feed. The CSTR is fitted with stirrer for proper mixing. From top outlet of it samples are collected for analysis. Constant temperature water bath arrangement is provided to conduct the experiment at various temperatures.Experiments

Cutting-Edge Thermal Uniformity and ControlThe reactor's full jacket design, paired with 50 mm rock wool insulation, guarantees superior isothermal conditions and temperature precision. The system's PLC-based touchscreen control enables real-time adjustment and monitoring, so operators can maintain consistent parameters for even the most sensitive laboratory reactions.
Superior Material Construction for DurabilityEvery wetted part is fabricated from Stainless Steel 316L for maximum corrosion resistance and product purity, while SS304 is used for external components and structural parts. This dual-material approach ensures mechanical strength, sanitary operation, and peace of mind for frequent laboratory use.
Comprehensive Safety and Hygiene FeaturesWith overpressure protection, robust alarm systems, double mechanical sealing, and CIP/SIP compatibility, the reactor emphasizes both operator safety and effortless cleaning. All sanitary valves, tempered glass inspection windows, and anti-vibration mounting contribute to a clean, safe, and stable processing environment.
FAQ's of Isothermal Continuously Stirred Tank Reactor:
Q: How does the isothermal CSTR maintain uniform temperature throughout the chamber?
A: The reactor achieves uniform temperature through a full jacketed system combined with 50 mm rock wool insulation, maintaining heat uniformity within 0.5C across the chamber. The system is managed by a PLC-based touchscreen for precise thermal control.
Q: What are the benefits of using Stainless Steel 316L for wetted parts?
A: Stainless Steel 316L offers high corrosion resistance and excellent chemical compatibility, ensuring product purity and long service life even under demanding laboratory conditions.
Q: When is CIP & SIP cleaning recommended for this reactor?
A: CIP (Clean-in-Place) and SIP (Sterilize-in-Place) are recommended after each production cycle or when changing batches to maintain sanitary conditions and comply with laboratory safety protocols.
Q: Where can this isothermal CSTR be used efficiently?
A: This reactor is ideal for laboratory settings in chemical, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology industries, particularly for processes requiring strict thermal control and aseptic conditions.
Q: What process parameters does the reactor log and monitor?
A: The built-in PLC system records and monitors critical parameters such as temperature and pressure, supporting advanced data logging for process analysis and quality assurance.
Q: How is mixing achieved and controlled in the reactor?
A: The top-mounted variable speed agitator, with a speed range of 20-300 rpm, ensures thorough mixing. Operators can easily adjust the speed to meet process requirements via the touchscreen interface.
