Product Description

Advanced Polarizing microscopes are principal piece of equipment used by the geologists to observe the optical properties of minerals. In has indispensable applications for petrography, crystallography.geology or finding stress points in metal, glass and textiles, etc. It permits orthoscopically to examine and identifify the structures of material with highly resolved distinctive images under various magnifications.
Stage - Compact ball-bearing centerable rotating stage, 140mm. diameter, graduated with vernier, lock & stage specimen clips
Focussing - By vertical movement of stage, coarse adjustment by rackpinion knobs & fine movement by screw-lever mechanism driven by screw-lever mechanism driven by graduated knobs.

Illuminator - Koehler's illuminator with pre-centred 20W tungsten halogen source and integral electric transformer with intensity control is concealed inside the base. Input voltage 220 or 110 Volts
Intermediate Tube - Built-in focussable Bertrand lens with center adjustable. Built-in analyzer removable from optical path. Analyzer can be rotated 90 with a vernier reading to 6'. Compensator and /4 can be inserted in the tube as per requirement
Compensator - -Gypsum Plate (1st order red compensating plate, 560 nanometers) and /4-Mica Plate (145 nanometers)..
Objectives - Semi-plan Flat Achromatic DIN Objectives P-4x/ 0.10, P-10x/ 0.25 and P-40x / 0.65 SL.
Eyepieces - Widefield Eyepieces WF-10x (Paired) and WF 10x with Cross
Polarizer - Fully rotatable swing-out Polarizer and abbe-condenser N.A.1.25 with iris-diaphragm
Optional Accessories - Objectives P-20x and P-60x, Micrometer Eyepiece WF10x Micro-photographic Equipment, Wooden Storing Cabinet, Detachable Mechanical Stage, etc.

Unparalleled Precision and Flexibility

This polarizing microscope ensures meticulous optical performance with strain-free achromatic objectives (4x to 100x oil), 0.1 stage vernier reading, and coaxial coarse and fine focus adjustment. Its 360 rotatable, graduated circular stage and detachable polarizer enable nuanced polarization studies, making it ideal for research-grade mineral and material investigations.

Advanced Imaging Capabilities

The trinocular head, inclined at 30 and rotatable 360, is engineered for ease of use and compatibility with standard digital cameras via a C-mount interface. With options for image and video capture (up to 20MP stills and Full HD video), it facilitates high-quality photomicrography for documentation or collaborative analysis.

Reliable, Adaptable Laboratory Solution

Constructed from steel and zinc, with a rugged die-cast aluminum alloy frame, this microscope is engineered for durability and stable operations. The included adjustable LED Kohler illumination, universal voltage compatibility, and comprehensive spare parts support make it an adaptable and reliable solution for academic, industrial, and research laboratories worldwide.

FAQ's of Advanced Polarizing Microscope:

Q: How do I attach a digital camera to the Advanced Polarizing Microscope?

A: The microscope is equipped with a trinocular phototube and a standard C-mount interface. You can mount any compatible digital camera using a C-mount adapter. The camera is not included with the standard model, but image formats such as JPG, BMP, and TIFF are supported through suitable camera attachments.

Q: What benefits does the 360 rotatable analyzer provide in laboratory observations?

A: The 360 rotatable analyzer, with a precise 0.1 vernier scale, allows for highly accurate angle measurements and thorough polarization studies. This feature is essential for mineralogical and material science applications, enabling users to precisely control and analyze birefringence and optical properties.

Q: Where can this polarizing microscope be effectively used?

A: This microscope is ideal for laboratories engaged in geology, mineralogy, petrography, and materials science. Its design supports research, quality assurance, and educational applications, offering advanced optical features for both academic and industrial settings.

Q: What is the process for adjusting the Bertrand lens during observation?

A: The built-in Bertrand lens can be both centered and focused using its adjustment controls. This enables detailed conoscopic and orthoscopic observations, allowing users to switch between observation modes without physically removing the lens, thereby streamlining the analysis process.

Q: How do I ensure optimal illumination for specimen observation?

A: Optimal illumination is achieved with the 3W transmitted LED light source and strain-free Abbe condenser (NA 1.25), both of which offer adjustable intensity. The Kohler illumination setup and aperture diaphragm provide uniform, glare-free lighting for enhanced viewing and imaging.

Q: When should I use the strain-free achromatic objectives provided with the microscope?

A: Use the strain-free achromatic objectives (4x/0.10, 10x/0.25, 40x/0.65, 100x/1.25 Oil) for all polarized light studies. These objectives minimize internal optical stresses and deliver clear, color-accurate images essential for the examination of anisotropic materials.

Q: What steps should be taken to maintain and prolong the lifespan of the microscope?

A: To maintain optimal performance, clean objectives and eyepieces with lens paper, use the supplied dust cover after use, and periodically check for dust inside the mechanical components. The microscope comes with foam-fitted export packing, a detailed instruction manual, and readily available spare parts such as lamps, fuses, and stage clips for easy maintenance.
