Product Description

Centrifuge Extractor (Manually)

Centrifuge Extractor (Manually) Instrument is used for determination and checking of Bitumen percentage in Bituminous mix, the mix is added with a solvent and dissolved bitumen is removed by centrifugal action. Consists of a removable Aluminum rotor bowl, Capacity 1500 gms. With a cap and tightening nut. Centrifuge Extractor (Manually) bowl assembly is mounted on a vertical shaft, which protrudes from a cast housing. Centrifuge Extractor (Manually) shaft and thus the bowl is rotated fast manually by enclosed gears in the cast body and handle. Solvent is introduced during the test through the holes in the cap of the housing. Centrifuge Extractor (Manually) drain is provided to collect dissolved Bitumen coming out of the rotating bowl and getting collected in the housing.

Efficient Manual Operation

Designed with a user-friendly crank mechanism, this hand-operated centrifuge extractor delivers reliable performance without dependence on electrical automation. Its manual design ensures consistent results while allowing users direct control over the extraction process, ideal for laboratory applications with specialized requirements.

Rugged and Safe Construction

Built with a sturdy cast iron or mild steel body and a cast aluminum container, the extractor withstands demanding laboratory environments. Safety features like a lockable lid and safety cover over the rotating bowl prioritize user protection, while the integrated discharge valve allows easy and spill-free removal of extracted liquids.

Tailored for Bitumen Testing

Specially developed for determining bitumen content in bituminous mixtures, this device is indispensable for civil engineering and road construction quality control. Its ability to safely accommodate common solvents ensures reliable sample preparation and accurate analytical results in compliance with testing standards.

FAQ's of Centrifuge Extractor (Manually):

Q: How does the manual centrifuge extractor operate?

A: The extractor is hand-operated using a crank mechanism, which spins the basket at speeds up to 3600 rpm. The operator manually rotates the handle to achieve the required speed for effective separation of bitumen from mixtures.

Q: What is the primary application of this centrifuge extractor?

A: This device is primarily used in civil engineering and road construction laboratories to determine bitumen content in bituminous mixtures, an essential step in quality assurance and material analysis.

Q: What materials are used in the construction of the extractor and its container?

A: The body is made from cast iron or mild steel for durability, while the sample container is constructed from cast aluminium to resist corrosion from solvents and frequent use.

Q: Which solvents are suitable for use with this centrifuge extractor?

A: The extractor is compatible with commonly used solvents such as trichloroethylene, benzene, and carbon tetrachloride, providing versatility for different testing protocols.

Q: Where is the extractor most commonly used?

A: This equipment is ideal for use in civil engineering, road construction laboratories, and related research facilities where precise bitumen content analysis is required.

Q: What safety features does the centrifuge extractor include?

A: To ensure operator safety, the machine is equipped with a lockable lid and a safety cover over the rotating bowl, minimizing the risk of accidental contact during operation.

Q: What are the dimensions and weight of the device, and how does that affect its usage?

A: The extractor measures approximately 380380520 mm and weighs around 19-20 kg, making it conveniently portable for laboratory use while remaining stable during manual operation.
